How to Invite ALL Facebook Friends to a Group, Event or Page

0 comments

Friend Craig on FacebookToday I invited all my friends on Facebook to like the page I created for the  TalentNet Live Social Recruiting Conference that will be held on 8/27 at the FritoLay HQ conference center in Plano, TX.

I did a little research to find a way to invite all my friends at once vs. selecting each on at a time.  I found a great post on how to do that by John Pozadzides that I thought would be good to share here.  I used the second script below and it worked beautifully.

How to Invite ALL Facebook Friends to a Group, Event or Page

  1. Go to your Event, Group or page and click “Invite People”.
  2. Once the page has loaded you should see all of your friends, but they are not selected.
  3. At this point, copy and paste the javascript code below into your Web browser’s address bar, then hit “Enter”.
  4. If all goes well, it selects all of your friends!

javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends').getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}

By the way, Adalberto Hernandez Vega reported that you can use the following script as well.

javascript:fs.select_all();

Happy Independence Day!

Sharing Social Media Secrets at Get Social OKC June 24th

getsocialconferecelarge 3When it  rains, it  pours.  I've been so busy speaking a training that I'm scrambling to keep up with the new business that those appearances are creating for my "day job".  I suppose there are worse problems to have.

I had such a great day doing Social Media training this week with the JC Penney recruiting team.  Among other things, we established a new hashtag for following jobs and info about Careers with JC Penney on Twitter, #JCPJobs.  They have a very talented group of recruiters there and are excited about adding some cool social media strategies to their recruiting tool belts.

It's been a busy month.  Two weeks ago I was honored to lead a session with Brianna Foulds on Social Recruiting at the People Report Workforce Symposium 2010. This conference set new standards for creativity and fun.  And I got to meet some of the top people in the restaurant industry.  I'm so impressed with Joni Doolan and her planning team and am excited to do it again in November.

Next I'll be at Get Social OKC on June 24th to lead a session on Social Media secrets.  This "unconference" will be more geared to marketing and business development, which is obviously a big passion of mine.

Join me for Get Social Conference at the Renissance Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City on this Thursday, June 24th.

Coffee style conversation with the region's best social media & business experts in an un-conference format.  Learn & discuss the business case for social media.  Speakers include me, Blake Jackson from Chesapeak; Sherri Elliott-Yeary, Generational Expert & Author; Andrew Speno, evening news anchor at Fox 25; and Small Business expert, Becky McCray among others.

Cost is $100 to attend with the conference starting at 12:30 PM and ending at 5:00 PM.  Use Coupon Code "GetSocialGuest" to save $25 when registering.

Stay or come late at 5:00 PM at the Renissance bar and join us for OKC Tweetup, the region's largest social media networking event with over 300 in attendance, FREE.

Register for both events & to learn more visit www.getsocialconference.com. We are proud to be a Mashable Media sponsored event!

Lastly, the promo page is up for the TalentNet Live Conference that will be held here in DFW at FritoLay HQ conference center on August 27th.  You can see details about that event at www.talentnetlive.com .  Last year's event was a huge success and we expect this year's to be bigger and better.  Hope you will join me.

Social Recruiting Summer Camp Starts Tonight

0 comments

summercamp Hats off the the planning team of People Report's Workforce Symposium Summer Camp.  They have put together what looks to be a very unique unconference for the HR and Recruiting community.  The event begins this evening and goes through Thursday.  And this conference features interesting elements like snipe hunting, community service at Jonathan's Place, a Rough Rider's baseball game, and ghost stories.

I will be discussing how to recruit talent in 2010 using social media with Brianna Foulds, Sr. Director of Recruitment for California Pizza Kitchen.  There will be so many talented people there who I can't wait to meet.  Wish me luck (I don't want to get poison ivy!).
